Let's Call It "A Year to Remember"

Oh my, its been a while since my last time. This work life thing might has change the way I look at stuff a lot. Well, lets see what I can say here.

Its been almost 2weeks since my first day at work, and I've already calling for sick on my 4th day. I woke up that morning with severe runny nose but I am so persistent not to take my Telfast right away. I want to be like Erick, who always says he can handle it with a lil passion and body immune. Big no no, it was not going any better and I decided not to go to work. Well, part of me said to force myself to go to work, since i know it will get better anw, but the other half is way too strong. As you all can guess. =) Anw, the next day I get back to work and all of sudden my job becomes a lot more fun. Coincidence?

So, what am I doing for living now? Thats always is the question, isnt it?
I worked in MoonePonds, 14mins train from the city (not so bad actually), in Toll Global Forwarding, and my role is a business analyst. I was so happy with this role, because this is what i want for so long already. Turns out it was not an easy job. Actually its quite easy if i have all the resources ready for me, but my colleague is such a big believer in "learning on your own" kind of thing. She forced me to re-create all scripts by myself and comes up with my own ERD. Which is good so far, but i feel like am learning in a slow mode. Am i being fuzzy here?

As far as i know, if everyone comes to work at my office, there should be 12 of us (including the other new girl that will start to work on the early Jan as well). It is not that much people, isnt it? And i think it kind of make the working environment really effective and warm. But scary as well, cause there will be no slacking around at all. We all know each other. Apparently they "kid" around a lot during work hour. My manager is such a funny guy. Ops, need to mention he got us box of chocolate for our xmas present. What a nice guy. =)
I think enough about work for now?

Life seems to be less colourful when you start working.
At least thats what my friend told me.
So far, I can say it is partly true. I feel like on my working days, I'll be longing for weekend. Planning things to do and where to go to eat. While on my weekends, i'll be thinking what to do next at work.

Btw, we did the Christmas Potluck. And it was a really merry one. Everyone's having fun. We laughed and ate a lot. Most of us should feel overfull. We played nice games. Listen to nice songs. I had a great fun. =)
See whats next for New Year...

I guess enough for now, until i see you again blogger.. hopefully there will be another update before new year..

Buble - Hollywood

Could you be a teenage idol
Could you be a movie star
When l turn on my tv
Will you smile and wave at me telling Oparah who you are.
So you want to be a rock star
With blue eyed bunny’s in your bed
Well remember when you’re rich that you sold yourself for this, you’ll be famous cuz you’re dead.

Chorus
So don’t go higher for desire
Put it in your head
Baby Hollywood is dead you can find it in yourself.

I don’t want to take you dancing
When you’re dancing with the world
Well You can flash your caviar and your million dollar car
I don’t need that kind of girl
but you could be that next sensation or will you set the latest style
You don’t need a catchy song
Cuz the kids will sing along
When you shoot it with a smile

Chorus
So don’t go higher for desire
Put it in your head
Baby Hollywood is dead you can find it in yourself.

So don’t fly higher for your fire
Put it in your head
Baby Hollywood is dead you can find it in yourself.
Keep it on your head Hollywood is dead.

Well you can do the mighty tango
You can start your little thing
You can swing from vine to vine
While the kiddies wait in line
With the money in their hands
But if you get to California
Save a piece of gold for me
If it’s the only thing you save
Then I’ll bet you’ll never wave when I watch you on tv.

Chorus
So don’t go higher for desire
Put it in your head
Baby Hollywood is dead you can find it in yourself.

So don’t fly higher for your fire
Put it in your head
Baby Hollywood is dead you can find it in yourself.

Keep on loving what is true and the world will come to you, you can find it in yourself

Love what is true and the world will come to you, you can find it in yourself
No no no no no
Keep it in your head Hollywood is dead
Come come Hollywood is dead babe woo hoo
Oh Hollywood is dead yeah yeah
Keep on loving what is true and the world will come to you, you can find it in yourself
Get it in your head Hollywood is dead

Bikram Yoga

Its been a while since my last post, and i feel bad about it. Im not busy, Im not in a bad mood and I havent even started working. Im actually is a free bird atm. Btw, apparently the police check for my work requirement might take a while since i only got one name, without a last name. I know, geezz, not again.. what a bugger - i will definitely give my kids a surname regardless i have none.

The good point is? I feel really fresh today eventhough the weather is a bit gloomy, with heavy rain pouring on my way back from my first yoga class. Yes yes yes, I said my first yoga class.. And thats most probably what makes me feel so fresh. I saw an ads in the road couple of days before and I wrote down the number in my phone. I was busy doing nothing at my friends place (*see? how free i am) when I suddenly remember that ads again. So, I decided that I want to try those bikram yoga class. It is cheap I guess, its only $20 for beginners and its valid for 10 consecutive days. So I figure I might give it a try, and once I feel good about it I can just come for the next 9days, or not. Hahaha

My impression? Oh gosh, I never expect to be this exhausted at first. The class runs for 90mins, and I start to rumble after 45mins. But my bikram teacher said that it is common, and that I need to keep on coming for the next days (*ofcourse she'll say that) until I get used to the heat in the room. She said only then I can start following the bikram positions fully.

Well, but that kind of makes sense because this is a bikram yoga, which means the class is a pre-heated room with minimum of 39degree. You can google a lot of article about different yoga types, but the most popular are hatha and bikram. Hatha yoga is the slower kind of yoga that gives you soothing feeling, usually with a bit of meditation. While bikram requires you to finish the 26 different positions to stretch your body and muscles, let your body sweat (really sweaty, this is why we are required to bring towel to be put above the yoga mat) and focus on your breathing.

I feel silly for not being able to complete the whole class, but I forced myself not to go out from the room until the end of the class. That way my bikram teacher said I will get used to the heat faster. Im not sure if Im going to come again tomorrow, but I really like it. Im also thinking to give myself a try for some Hatha next time.
These are the positions for bikram, and let me tell you, it is not that easy, and people are sweating like hell.

Sorry if you think this video is superb.. but i dont think so..

You seriously need to click on this link to understand.. This video was made with the hope for Australia to boost its chance to win the bid for 2022 World Cup..

My comment..?
What the heck? Whats wrong with giving an image that stealing the cup and run it all across Australia is allright? I understand that the goal of the video is to show how passionate Australia to win this bid and how wonderful it will be. But, making Australian dream comes true by stealing it at the first place? I dont think so.

I did the poll on The Age from the related article that says "Will the surfing kangaroo video boost our chances of winning the role of 2022 World Cup host country?"
Result:
Yes (33%)
No (67%)

There you go Gillard, how could you even involve in the video itself here..
I just dont understand..

Early Christmas Gift from Santa

Life lately has been no more than catching up with friends (before they go back for summer holiday, a.k.a 3months), trying different foods, buying summer prep clothes, skin care and stuff.. oh and also, i've been searching around for info about my phd, and anything related with that..

Hopefully i will hear some words from my boss anytime this week. Im hoping to start to work next Monday, which is less likely if he has not call me this week. Im not worried about my police check but I feel silly realising that in 4years life in Melbourne, i have move from one place to another for 6times.. geez.. only God knows how i managed the whole moving process..

Speaking of moving, am so excited, one of my friend from Sydney will move to Melbourne starting from today yay! At least when all of my friends are away, i got her.. Another exciting news is, it seems that everyone got a job already lately.. how wonderful is that?
Early christmas present, hey Santa? =)

PS. Im going to buy a christmas tree in BigW very soon, hopefully..
Hope it will lighten up the house a bit later on..

Most Romantic + High Tech and Well Prepared Marriage Proposal

This is awesome and I'll just quote right away from the article..
It took three years, thousands of dollars and a custom-built iPhone app, but Sahba Idelkhani finally got to propose the way he wanted to.

When Mr Idelkhani, a 26-year-old computer security engineer, wanted to ask for the hand of his girlfriend Melody, he knew the moment had to be special.

It turned out to be that, and quite a bit more.

In what looks to be the country's most hi-tech marriage proposal, Mr Idelkhani led his lover on a 200km scavenger hunt controlled by a custom-made iPhone app.

It ended with a catered dinner in a hotel penthouse and a surprise three years in the making.

But let's go back to the start.

"I wanted to do something a little bit different that hadn't been done before," Mr Idelkhani told news.com.au.

"I've heard of proposals with people utilising different things like aeroplanes and so forth, but I wanted to incorporate a little bit of technology.

"We're relatively young, we do have a fair bit of technology around us in our lives. She's got an iPhone, I've got an iPhone."

With that in mind, the Sydney resident set about designing an iPhone game that would lead his girlfriend on a nostalgic journey across the city visiting places special to their relationship.

Once he'd come up with the design for the game, Mr Idelkhani posted the job of building it on outsourcing site Freelancer.com.au.

The first quote came back at $750, but Mr Idelkhani decided to pay twice that to ensure the job was done on time. After finding a game developer in Texas, an early version of the app came back in five days.

Then, after he'd plugged in the right GPS locations, it was time to start.

"She was given the iPhone app on the day. I went to her and said: 'You've got an app, just follow the instructions'," he said.

The app pointed Melody in the direction of special locations on a map. When she got within 25m of the location, a message appeared.

"Once she was happy with the actual message, she had to take a photo as evidence (she was there)," Mr Idelkhani said.

While Melody was tracking down the locations, the app was also posting her progress to Facebook.

"Throughout the day when she was walking around and going to all these different locations it would constantly poll back to Facebook and share the images and the title of the level she was on," Mr Idelkhani said.

"So people were constantly being fed information about where she was."

The app led the couple on a journey across Sydney to favourite cafes, parks and train stations.

"I tried to optimise it so we didn't have to keep going back and forth, but considering we went to like, I think it was 12 different places, there was still a bit of travel," Mr Idelkhani said.

"We pretty much travelled, I'd say, over 200km in the car."

At the end of the hunt was a catered dinner in the penthouse of the Meriton serviced apartments in the CBD.

But that wasn't the end.

At the start of the day, Melody had been asked to bring along a few items, and she was given several others during the hunt.

"The final level (of the game) prompted her to go into the master bedroom, saying there was something in there for her," Mr Idelkhani said.

Just like in a video game, the app told her to use the items she had at hand to find her reward.

"She emptied things out and found that there was a little tool to open stitches," Mr Idelkhani said.

"She realised she had two teddy bears, so she opened one.

"Inside it was a note that I put in there three years ago, which was a message saying: 'Will you marry me?'"

Hang on. Three years ago? Yep.

"I gave it to her within the first six months of when we started formally dating. We'd been friends for about five years before that," Mr Idelkhani said.

"I was confident that she was the one so I planted that in there just in case. I was pretty confident it would happen, but if it didn't it would be hidden in there forever anyway.

"I doubt she would have found it."

But everything did go to plan, and now the couple are planning their wedding.

And what's on the agenda for that event? After the thrill of the proposal, it will be back to basics, Mr Idelkhani said.

"Nothing as intricate this time. We're having an outdoor wedding on a private property."

Life Update

Life lately?
Busy hanging around with friends.. sounds like too many fun, less work, but i figure summer is coming.. meaning many of my friends will be away going back to Indo for holiday or even forgood, while the others busy planning a trip to Sydney GoldCoast or Tazzie.. i kind of feel sad that people change, moved on, and say good bye.. but i guess the same goes to me.. so just seat tight in the roller coaster of the lifeshow and see where lifes bring me to..

Couple of updates:
Erick's bday was on last Friday, and he got hell a lot of good things going on in his life lately.. His boss has kind of give him a promotion so that now he got a more steady income and definitely a lot higher.. He got his bday surprise with friends and he got me who love him much.. =)

I've got the job that I went for interview in Boxhill, and am gratefull for it, but Im still waiting for the decision from the other company in MoonePonds.. I really want to be an analyst.. (*See how i put this update on the second one? Because I am still not sure about where life will bring me in terms of my career)

I bought another two pairs of jeans in Betina Liano sale last Sunday with my housmate and my luvly sister.. PS. I love how me and my sis can share our wardrobes.. Means more shopping less expenses.. haha..

Summer is coming soon, I can feel the heat, I can feel the sun..
Lets not get too excited? Lets get over excited, baby..

Bruno Mars - Grenade

Easy come, easy go
That's just how you live, oh
Take, take, take it all,
But you never give
Should of known you was trouble from the first kiss, Had your eyes wide open -
Why were they open?
Gave you all I had
And you tossed it in the trash
You tossed it in the trash, you did
To give me all your love is all I ever asked, Cause what you don't understand is
I’d catch a grenade for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Throw my hand on a blade for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I’d jump in front of a train for ya (yeah, yeah , yeah)
You know I'd do anything for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah) Oh, oh
I would go through all this pain, Take a bullet straight through my brain,
Yes, I would die for ya baby ; But you won't do the same

No, no, no, no
Black, black, black and blue beat me till I'm numb Tell the devil I said “hey” when you get back to where you're from
Mad woman, bad woman,
That's just what you are, yeah,
You’ll smile in my face then rip the breaks out my car
Gave you all I had
Bruno Mars Grenade lyrics found on

And you tossed it in the trash
You tossed it in the trash, yes you did
To give me all your love is all I ever asked Cause what you don't understand is
I’d catch a grenade for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Throw my hand on a blade for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I’d jump in front of a train for ya (yeah, yeah , yeah)
You know I'd do anything for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah) Oh, oh
I would go through all this pain, Take a bullet straight through my brain,
Yes, I would die for ya baby ; But you won't do the same

If my body was on fire, ooh You’ d watch me burn down in flames You said you loved me you're a liar Cause you never, ever, ever did baby...
But darling I’ll still catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I’d jump in front of a train for ya (yeah, yeah , yeah)
You know I'd do anything for ya (yeah, yeah, yeah) Oh, oh
I would go through all this pain, Take a bullet straight through my brain,
Yes, I would die for ya baby ; But you won't do the same.
No, you won’t do the same,
You wouldn’t do the same,
Ooh, you’ll never do the same,
No, no, no, no

James Blunt - Good Bye My Lover

Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
Cause I saw the end before we’d begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.
So I took what’s mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won’t stop there,
I am here for you if you’d only care.
You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.
And love is blind and that I knew when,
My heart was blinded by you.
I’ve kissed your lips and held your hand.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know you well, I know your smell.
I’ve been addicted to you.

[x2]
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

I am a dreamer and when i wake,
You can’t break my spirit – it’s my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be
I’ve seen you cry, I’ve seen you smile.
I’ve watched you sleeping for a while.
I’d be the father of your child.
I’d spend a lifetime with you.
I know your fears and you know mine.
We’ve had our doubts but now we’re fine,
And I love you, I swear that’s true.
I cannot live without you.

[x2]
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I’m asleep.
And I will bare my soul in time,
When I’m kneeling at your feet.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

I’m so hollow, baby, I’m so hollow.
I’m so, I’m so, I’m so hollow.
I’m so hollow, baby, I’m so hollow.
I’m so, I’m so, I’m so hollow.

Andrew Allen - Loving You Tonight

Lost, In the day, In a way
Its the same as the one before this
and i wish, I could say
that its all black and white
But its gray, Its the same, its the same
And i'm so tired but you are what im comin home to

Oh im thinkin' 'bout red wine, birds and takin' it easy
and i got you in my arms, Takin' a break from crazy

And I'll say hey
You'll say baby, Hows your day
I'll say crazy
But its all gonna be alright
You'll kiss my smile
I'll pull you closer
Spend awhile just gettin' to know ya
But its all gonna be alright, Loving you tonight
Loving you tonight

And you are there
On my heart, at the start
of my my every morning
and i cant deny, by the end of the day
that im runnin' on empty
But you make it full, Steal my breathe
Your so unpredictable,
Thats what i'm comin home to

Oh i'm dreamin bout romance , slow dancin with you

When i got you in my arms, Then i don't care what we do

And I'll say hey
You'll say baby, Hows your day
I'll say crazy
But its all gonna be alright
You'll kiss my smile
I'll pull you closer
Spend awhile just gettin' to know ya
But its all gonna be alright, Loving you tonight
Loving you tonight

Cause' everyday is just the in between
the hours separating you from me
i know you'll be waiting, I know you'll be waiting

And I'll say hey
You'll say baby, Hows your day
I'll say crazy
But its all gonna be alright
You'll kiss my smile
I'll pull you closer
Spend awhile just gettin' to know ya
But its all gonna be alright, Loving you tonight
Loving you tonight, Loving you tonight,
Loving you tonight, Loving you tonight.
friend
/frÉ›nd/ –noun

1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
2. a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter: friends of the Boston Symphony.
3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile: Who goes there? Friend or foe?

It's funny how sometimes people refer to you as a friend but never actually fulfill as one..
I seriously feel that some people need to revise their definition of a "friend"
Who's your friend now?

In Trend HairStyle: bob

Cant believe what I just read..
2011 Hair Trends will be bob (and fringe/bangs)..
and it makes me happy..
Like all fashion trends, hair trends generally come, go, and then come back. Infrequently, though, there is the odd hairstyle that appears to have had its time only to soon reappear, though thoroughly evolved.
The bob and fringe (bangs) may be one such hairstyle.
The bob is surely one of the 2011 hair trends to look out for..

Am not saying anything, but am just really happy with my hair style atm..
Time to shape some muscle and prepared for summer..

Semarang - Pray for Indonesia

Well, its kind of a coincidence or something..
but just after my last post yesterday, a friend of mine from my hometown told me that our beloved city, Semarang, just got a severe flood..
And am kind of surprised.. How come??
Are not we suppose to worry about the hot ash from the volcano coming soon instead?

First version:
Turns out one of the dam from the "Tanah Mas" area has been broken..
and the water just blowing out to the city..
causing more than 40cm height of flood..
The housing population in the surrounding areas has caused heavy traffic

Second version:
The Beringin River in Semarang has spill due to the heavy rain that afternoon (9/11/10)..
There are 3 victims caused by this flood including 2 toddler and 1 adult..
Heavy traffic has forced many busses and trucks to get stuck due to the mud coming along with the flow of the flood..

Pray for Indonesia..
Pray for Semarang..
Pray for US..
Indonesian version of the news can be read here and here

Pray for Indonesia

Am not claiming myself as a true nationalist or whatever, but i do love my home country Indonesia..
This post is about "Pray for Indonesia"..

Since nowadays most people are either with Blackberry or iPhone, sending forwarded emails is not so much in trend anymore.. People prefer to broadcast message directly from their mobile.. either with Blackberry Massenger or anykind of other social networking media..
I found this quite annoying sometimes, when people just keep on broadcasting unimportant (read: rubbish) message.. But lately, i do feel glad because those broadcasts are my way of keeping myself up to date about whats going on over there in Indonesia.. especially when my parents were in New Zealand, and practically no one's at home for quite sometime..

Lately there have been quite a lot of natural disasters going on in Indo..
First, we got this tsunami on the Mentawai Island, in West Coast of Sumatra..
Then, we got Merapi, one of the most active volcano in Java Island..
what makes it worst is Merapi keep on searing ash (we refer it as "wedhus gembel") that makes a lot of people got sick, respiration problem, cloudy air, and even the road got all white from the ash..
As soon as the news were spread, people started to use #PrayForIndonesia as their tag on Twitter and Facebook as well. I know who started this.. but there are some logo's of "Pray for Indonesia" being used. This i guess is a symbol to show their compassion and care with Indonesia..

Some news on either Tsunami in Mentawai and Merapi Volcano can be read here..
Let's together Pray for Indonesia..
let God be with those who need His help..

Seems like the heat is coming up

Just like Melbourne weather forecast for the next 7 days from The Age, i think i will have the same thing going on throughout the week..
I can not stop thinking about what's next in my life..
Job, Money, Home, Family, Education, PR, Friends..
Everything is going through my head over and over...

Well, i just need to let it out..
blogging is the easiest way atm..

Turning a new page

Last week was really tiring..
My parents were here for a short visit, wait - correction - short session about life lecture with me..
Im not complaining here, in fact, i feel like my dad has gave me a slap on the face to wake me up from my current life style..
If i take a step back again, i've been graduated from last September, and even though i still have tutoring at that time, i have done nothing with my last 3months time..
I got some interview for the job that I really like, but that is it.. it has not go any further..

The main thing that my dad keep on saying is, why bother to work here if you can go back to Indonesia and be a boss.. do more work with more money and full support from your parent..
He's ok with me staying in Australia - for good - as long as I can settle myself and work something extraordinary..
He does not want me to just work in a common place, with a standard salary..
He want me to shine.. and break the record..

Guess what?
He gave me a list of things that I should start to look around..
Information here and there..
We even browse for some properties here..
Lets see how it goes..
They've flied back to Indonesia, and now Im on my own.. cheers...

Lorem Ipsum - Filler Text

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit,

Ut enim ad minim veniam,
quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate
velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur.
Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident,
sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.

Ever notice this text?
This is called the Lorem Ipsum..
if you checked on Wikipedia, it basically tells you that Lorem Ipsum is "filler text" that people usually used in presenting a text layout or document visual presentation. The idea is to put something - filler text - thats totally random so that the reader do not being distracted by the content of the text itself.. instead just focusing on the layout..
Isn't it cool?

I just realised about this "filler text" Lorem Ipsum lately..
In fact, this website here gives a lil more insight.. it says that Lorem Ipsum has been the standard "dummy" text from around 1500's.. and again, its been used world widely..
It also says that Lorem Ipsum is not a complete random text, but.. how many of you knows the meaning of this text? Unless ur Italian, ofcourse..
Give me wonder, were Italian used the same filler text when they're developing a website or any other kind of task involving visual presentation..

PS. Oh yay, I just did a phone interview, and they asked me to come for a face to face interview tomorrow.. Wish me luck..

aS Promised

Hopefully more coming soon..
So far i got a 4.5star out of 5 as a response of my hair cut..
I love it, they love it, my BF love it, my parents?

(another) Parent Visit

In less than a week time, my parent will come for a week visit..
meaning:
"cleaning in progress, please.."

im hating the fact that cleaning here is so hard,
the first day i try to clean everything..
wipe out the dust..
do some floor sweeping..
and the next day, its all there again..

the fact that i got my hair cut kind of helping though..
no more hairs in the floor..

i'm being productive

Today, i decided not to go anywhere and dedicate my whole day to do important stuff that i keep on neglacting..

first thing first, job hunting..
this is the end of the semester already.. i need to start hunting for fulltime job again.. and dont say a word about doing it early on, as i said.. am being a lazy ass lately..

second serve,
cleaning up stuff that i have not take care of properly for quite sometime..
i manage to organize everything so that now i can read it easily..

third come,
i survive the thirst of sleeping and doing nothing..
i keep myself busy and now, i feel great..
i feel incredibly good...

so, lets start a new page from now on..
here

Who knows whats next?

Finally everything is back into normal again,
not that im not happy with the previous two hectic weeks..
im actually feeling blue last night,
knowing that there are many things to catch up,
yet i can not do it early on, because i was busy with the "graduation family" thing..
now, im free to do whatever i want,
but i miss those busy week..
tell me about it, eh?

Btw,
i haven't cut my hair,
now im thinking to cut it not so short, so that when my mom (yes they're coming real soon) come, she wont get shocked..
afterward, i can cut it shorter if i want..
what you think?

Funny story is,
i told one of my friend in Monash that I believe once i cut my hair,
i will get my fulltime job,
so, dont u think i have to stick with my first plan,
"cut it short before the month ends"

Oh yea, there's a lot happening as well about Erick's family..
i wont talk about it here,
but i feel like at first, its hard to get closer with someone who doesn't speak the same language as u are..
but overtime, i feel better and i really love his Grandma..
she's so cute, i can barely stop smiling when i recall her face..
esp when she's talking in indo and when we tease her to smile on pics..

but now.. all i can say is..

i am tired..

i need some refreshment..
before the week starts all over again..

Mrs Spencer

"10-10-10"
The magic day of the year.. a lot of people get married on this day, including a friend of mine.. and im the bridesmaid.. how exciting is that?

Everything starts in the morning, with the make up thing, hair do, nice dress (btw, her father make the dress for her, everything is custom made from Hong Kong), pretty white bridal heels (she got it from Tony Bianco) and perfect weather..
The wedding is in Flemington Race Course, and it is a very pretty venue for a wedding..
or maybe it's because of the weather? or the sweet couple? or the pretty dresses?
well, anyway, we drive from her house to the venue at 3.25, and we arrive there at 3.50.. the funny thing is, Peter (the groom) is actually working in Flemington as a supervisor and thats explain how all of the staff are really friendly.. Brenda, which apparently is the one in charge for the day, told us that we're not suppose to be there yet, we're suppose to come a little late (she said its a tradition, so the groom will get nervous), and that we need to drive around first until the time says 4.15..

So we went back at 4.15 and everyone's there,
Peter looking extremely nervous, and tense..
He shake a bit on the part where he proclaim his vows.. and Amy not looking any more relax than Peter proclaim her vows word by word making it sounds really sweet as well..
Then they got to sign the paper, take pictures pictures pictures.., do the Chinese Tea Serving ceremony (Amy explained to Peter why she need to do that and whats the meaning of the ceremony; eventhough Peter is not Chinese, he decided that he want to do the same as well - which is sweetttt), and then the bridal's party followed with the photo session..
We all come to start the dinner party at 7ish.. or maybe 6.30? followed with the speech from Wayne (one of the bestman), and John (if im not wrong, Peter's daddy)..
Then its time for the first dance, followed by the bridesmaid and bestman, families, friends.. and it gets crazy.. I can tell Peter's family love to dance A LOT..

Amy got to stop the dance for a while, and do the flowers throwing thing (and no, i dont get the bouquet).. which really exciting.. and then Peter got to do the "crazy dance" to take a gutter from Amy's thigh (this is new for me, I dont know about this tradition before, but I like it..) and throw it to the single guys hoping to get a partner in life..
and everything concludes with the cake cutting, and everyone got to own the floor.. (guess who keep on dancing? Peter's mom!)

So, congratulations to you both..
I can see you two as a couple for a life time..
and keep on bringing the best from each other's out..
Happy to be part of your wedding Mrs Spencer =)

Very Fun Weekend

There's quite a lot going on last weekend.. and i must say i enjoy it a lot..
It's all started because last Friday was the 8th (and no matter what the month is, it means celebration)..
So, since me and Erick were both busy on Friday, we decided to postpone our day till Saturday, which again means I have to cancel (*and very sorry for it) the plan with the girls to find a present for my other friend's bday.. and also cancel on bringing my sister around in city and drag her to the church (*if she was not sick, she must be happy instead of being mad at me)

The weather was perfect, so we both walked around city, had nice lunch at one of our fave Vietnamese resto, and I asked him if he want to go on the river cruise thingy in Yarra River..

It was really nice, and I got to see a lot of new places.. plus I saw ads painted in the sky using the plane, saying "betstar mobile" ..and my river tour guide said it should cost you around $15k..
well, i personally think this is way too expensice, UNLESS it is for some special occassion like proposing?
nah, am joking, its way too expensive, and it fade away in less than 5minutes i guess..

We then walk around again, watch some street performance, drop by in a cute little Japanese shop - where everything is under $5 - so we get crazy and start to buy unimportant stuff, just like this heart shape speaker, and watch Melbourne Music show

At night we met our friends and watch "Eat Pray Love",
and Julie Roberts is stunning, as always..

I'll talk about my SUNday on the other post..
this is way too long already..
ciao

Another Old Lovely Song: Uncle Kracker - Follow Me

Uncle Kracker is the best.. =)

You don't know how you met me
You don't know why
You can't turn around and say goodbye
All you know is when I'm with you
I make you free
And swim through your veins like a fish in the sea
I'm singin'

[CHORUS]
Follow me everything is alright
I'll be the one to tuck you in at night
And if you
Want to leave I can guarantee
You won't find nobody else like me

I'm not worried 'bout the ring you wear
Cuz as long as no one knows than nobody can care
You're feelin' guilty and I'm well aware
But you don't look ashamed and baby I'm not scared
I'm singin'

[REPEAT CHORUS]

Won't give you money
I can't give you the sky
You're better off if you don't ask why
I'm not the reason that you go astray and
We'll be all right if you don't ask me to stay

[REPEAT CHORUS]

You don't know how you met me
You don't know why
You can't turn around and say goodbye
All you know is when I'm with you
I make you free
And swim through your veins like a fish in the sea
I'm singin'

Smokers: with Their Very Noble Sacrifice

I just read this post from Kaskus, the biggest Indonesian community site (they're claiming it, im not sure though), and it strikes me a bit.. and I just feel the urge to share it here..

I translate it into english.. and those are the reasons that I use on my highschool debate practice, where I have to say pro to smokers..
Personally?
I think it makes sense, and I'll say everyone has the right to or not to smoke,
AS LONG AS they're following the rule of not smoking in areas such as school, hospital, etc etc
Well, I dont think smoking for pregnant woman should be allowed too..

****
Smokers : Willing to sacrifice their lungs, heart and soul for these reasons...
  1. Patch the state budget devisit by buying cigarettes with tax

  2. Feed the thousands of workers who work in the cigarette company, which mostly are lower class workers

  3. Feed the clove and tobacco farmers

  4. Donate money to music festivals for the pleasure of the nation

  5. Support autonomous regions through billboards on the streets

  6. Provide livelihood for the scavengers of cigarette butts

  7. Support ahstray entrepreneurs

  8. Support the advertising companies

Imagine if all people in Indonesia decided to quit smoking?
How many more problems our government will need to face?
This post is not for the intention to create any propaganda.

i made my mine - short hair

Hola, i've been keeping this for quite a long time ago already,
but now im going to say it out loud again..

i am going to cut my hair short

and it should not be more than a month from now..
geez i keep on postponing..
but what kind of short hair i'll be having?
just wait and see..

i'll pull myself together no matter what people say with the new me later on..
i'll make it work baby..

Home and Away

I followed this Australian TV Series for quite sometime already,
and i just notice this song..
kind of like it.. so i googled it and find it here..

Trust your breath in me for a moment, we'll lose the world.
Body seems to slip the same way, sweet rhythm lie.
She tells me I will always have this, see it on the horizon.
She tells me sweet nothings, love only hurts.
And everybody could see it coming, as clear as daybreak.
Truth be told I could see it coming but I held on anyway.
But I didn't do it.
I could not do it.
Love only hurts just a little.

Change of Heart - Jodi Picoult

I have decided to get myself one book per week for my reading hobby, starting from this month. And the first book that I picked is this one book that I bought long time ago, but has not get the chance to actually finish it. (Actually, I read the first 10pages out of 447 and never touch it anymore).

"Change of Heart" - Jodi Picoult
I realised later on that most of Picoult's novel has got illness or tragedy happening in the story. I will need to get myself a happier kind of book for next time, so that it boost my mood. But this book is not that sad afterall, infact, it gives me a lot of new knowledge about religion, a bit of law, and bits of health explanation included as well. I will rate this book a 3.5 out of 5, simply because i think Picoult's way of thinking is amazing.
Surprisingly, i found this video from YouTube where Picoult herself talking about her new book (at that time - 2008).

She looks a lot bigger than I expected from her pics at the back of the front cover in the book.
Overall, this is worth a read, i'll say..
